Work Health and Safety when using multimedia in the Library

It is important to take care when using multimedia equipment to avoid potential hazards. Everyone has a responsibility to prevent injury or harm to themselves or others while using electrical equipment. Here are some tips to avoid work health and safety issues: Visually inspect equipment before use, do not use damaged, faulty or frayed items. Report any issues. Keep water away from electrical equipment. Switch off power and unplug equipment when not in use. Do not plug power cords into live power points – turn the power off first. Keep electrical cords and leads away from high traffic areas. Use equipment correctly by following instructs found in the manual.

Computer Terms of Usage:   Computers can be booked for up to 2 hours at a time.    Computers must not be used to download illegal material.   No food or drinks (excluding water bottles) near computers.    No playing games on the computer.
